My podcast



Given name: SENGCHANTHAVONG PENGCHAY

Activity:  Remix audio
Aim:    to make students’ practice creating Podcast
Context: EFL             
Students’ Level: 2nd year trainee at Teacher Training College (pre-intermediate)
Students’ Age: 19 year-old up
Students’ Background: Students have learned how to create audacity prepare the MP3 music and their earphones to use for their podcast
Lesson Unit: Creating Podcast
Goals: Students will be able to repeat the vocabularies and practice speaking from phonetics English classes
Language focus: vocabularies and dialogues
Time:  90 minutes
ICT Tool: Audacity
Procedure:
I.                   Warm-up:  Brainstorm students if they used to listen to remixed music, stories, films and videos, how they like them, if they like them, what students attractions in those remixes
II.                Introduction to Audacity: Teach how to use Audacity to create a podcast
III.             The task: 
-          Individual work
-          Students find out the suitable place to record their voices two times with two tracks
-          Students delete some parts from their record that they are unexpected to be in by clicking the circus on those parts and delete
-          Students effect their record to make it faster or slower voice by click on effect then, go to the change speed and choose percent change
-          Students add music (MP3) to their record by click on file then, go to import pass through audio and next choose the music
-          Students can choose to mute the voice track or to mute the music track or can keep both voice and music tracks at the same time.
Finally save the podcast: Click on file then, save project as: in your video folder but students have to write the file name
- Students will present their podcast next class
